Member Call To Action

To KAPA Board and Membership,

At our April board meeting it was voted on to send a pre-drafted letter to all membership directors to have them put it on their agency letterhead along with any changes they feel needs to be made and have their medical director sign and send it to Michael Reynolds (m.reynoldsemtp@gmail.com) no later than May 9,2022 so that he can present them to the KBEMS Education Committee and Medical Oversight Committee on the subsequent dates. This is in an effort to enhance the current Advanced EMT curriculum with an “AEMT Cardiac EKG endorsement” which will allow credentialed responders the ability to recognize EKG changes and be allowed to monitor EKG patients.

This is very time sensitive and must be turned in to Michael by the May 9 date. This could help with staffing in our state. I encourage everyone to please help with this initiative. Board members I ask that you call around your region to discus with other EMS directors to help facilitate this initiative as well.
